UK and Ireland witnessed a quiet week as their players took time to prepare for the forthcoming World Series Poker (WSOP) to be held in Las Vegas.
Major portion of the preparation involved the players participating in as many online tournaments as they can, as the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) of PokerStars is already in full flow. This proved to be a great opportunity for sharpening their hands.
It has been good news for Ireland as the native Andrew “UlDuffer” Sweeney landed himself with the prize money of over $175,000 which is his carrier best. Keeping in step with the winning streak of players from UK and Ireland in recent times at Pokerstars Sunday Million he went on to finish runner up at the SCOOP, biggest weekly tournament’s special edition on online poker.
It is not just him that won some big money this week on Sunday, the score kept pouring throughout the week. Notable winner was Billy “b8chatz “Chattaway, with a SCOOP title as he won a cool $111,132 in the $1,050 buy-in No Limit Hold’em event. Chattaway is one player that you need to watch, and he is among the British poker players heading to Las Vegas with potential. He has logged some big wins this year in the circuit.
Coming to online poker, Chris “Moorman1” Moorman, the legend climbed on top of the UK list for online poker after he registered a string of big results. A record 25th Triple Crown title of PocketFives.com was won by Moorman. He later went on to win PokerStar Sunday 500 and a couple of big stack tournaments played on PokerStars. Moorman has struck the right note before he takes on Las Vegas and he is going to be a strong contender for winning a bracelet this summer.
